FICO Score Info

Credit scores measure your risk to a lender.  Here are a few items that are incorporated in your score.

1.  Payment History

This is the most important category.  The worst thing a consumer can do is make a late payment or not make a payment at all.

2.  Capacity

Capacity is simply the amount owed.  The less owed the better the score will be.  It is a member's best interest to keep balances low on all revolving accounts.

3.  Length of Credit History

Lenders look for applicants with long credit histories.

4.  Type of Credit

Your score is determined by a mix such as credit cards, mortgages and consumer finance accounts.

5.  New Accounts

This factor reviews the number of new credit accounts opened, how long open, the number of recent requests for credit and length of time since your credit was pulled.
